Nancy writes: " I do not know the name of the newspaper this came from, nor the date it was printed. It was sent to me exactly as I have scanned it .... The ... relative who supplied this obit told me that date of death for Daniel was June 10th, 1915 Schenectady, New York." The obituary follows:
      Daniel D. Brown

Daniel D. Brown, 96 years old, one of the oldest residents of the city, died at his home, 211 Guilderland avenue, yesterday morning at about 2 o'clock, after being in failing health for the past two weeks. The deceased was born in Berne, September 16, 1819, the son of Asa Brown and Priscilla Whipple. His mother was a distant relative of Martha Washington, the wife of George Washington, and is said to have resembled her very closely. During his long life Mr. Brown lived for varying periods in Lyons, Albany, Cohoes, 30 years on the Ridge road in Glenville, and for the past 40 years in Schenectady. He was in early life a brush maker, working for Armour's in Albany, which has since dissolved. For about 20 years, while residing in Glenville, he was engaged as a farmer and taxidermist, and for many years drove a stage between Albany, Cherry Valley and other places in the vicinity. In February he celebrated the golden wedding anniversary of his marriage to Julia Binck of Providence, Saratoga County. She survives, together with two daughters, Mrs. George R. Dutcher of Scotia and Mrs. James K. Scott of Brooklyn; one son, Miner W. Brown of this city; also four grandchildren, Harriett, Ethel and Joseph Dutcher of Scotia, and Roberta Scott of Brooklyn. There are no great grandchildren. The deceased was the last survivor of a family of seven sons and six daughters. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from his late home, 211 Guilderland avenue. Burial will be in the cemetery of the Scotia Baptist Church, of which he was a member.
