Hi, I'm in the process of researching my family tree and I have found a footnote on a document compiled in the 1800s that I think refers to your Lawrence Wilkinson whom I think was the son of my 9 great uncle, Lancelot Wilkinson, buried 28 Sept 1656. I am directly decended from Lancelot's brother, Robert Wilkinson.

      The note states:
On the submission of Newcastle on Tyne to the Parliamentarian Assay, Oct 22 1644, his son, Lawrence, who had taken an active part in its defence, on behalf of King Charles 1st, was permitted by Cromwell, on the intervention of General Fairfax, to emigrate to New England, where he married, and is now represented in direct lineal descent by Alfred Wilkinson Esq, of Harperley House, Syracuse, New York, U.S.
