    • !SOURCE: "Possible Ancestry of John S. Hammond: A Conundrum," Dec. 8, 2010. Email attachment from George L. Hammond (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 11 Jan 2010. Cites Bristol, R.I. Early Settlers; Torrey New England Marriages before 1700. George writes that she is mentioned in the following will:
      "William Browne, of Bristol, in ye County of Bristol, in ye Colony of New plimoth, husbandman, will dated Aug. 6, 1689. To widow Jinnins 40s, to my daughter Hannah Maishfeild 40s, to Mary Backaway my two acre lot of land at Bristol to be delivered on the day of her marriage, or when she is 21 years old, also one share of commonage; to Susannah Hammond all my swine and the corn on the land of William Throop planted by said Brown and also one bushel of my Enclish corn; to Deliverence Corps a great Cubbord now standing in my dwelling house." John Corps, Exec. John cary, John Smith and Richard Smith, witnesses. (Bristol Co. Probate, Book I, p. 4.) Perhaps Susanna Browne married first _______ Bradley.
      William Browne's inventory was taken Aug. 8, 1689, amounted to L46,-14-8. The children of Edward and Susannah Hammond are recorded on p. 81, Vital Rec. of Bristol, R. I.
