!SOURCE: Email from Kent Watkins (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 6 Sep 2013. Regarding this individual, he writes (citing Wayne Tillinghast's monograph on the Tillinghast family):
    • Let's turn to Pardon's 2nd wife, Lydia Taber[Tabor], b. 1640, d. 1720, daughter of Philip and Lydia (Masters) Taber of Tiverton, according to Wayne T.(although there is some dispute by David Thaler's Taber Report whether he ever was in Tiverton, although he was a an itinerant carpenter and builder in Newport and Providence). According to this latter report, she was born about 1648 in Barnstable, Ma. and died in Providence in 1720 (Wayne T. agrees with the death date, but doesn't state location.)

You show that she died in Swansea, Bristol, Ma., the same place that Pardon married Sarah Butterworth, by your records. Is this just a coincidence, the towns being so close? And the extended Butterworth family were also Baptists like most of the early Tillinghasts. You both agree on the death date, although you say that her birth date was two years later (1642) and it was in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Ma., in agreement with Thaler. You also say that she is buried in Kickemuit Cemetery, Warren, Bristol, RI,whereas Wayne T. does not provide a location. Thaler says she died in Providence, but perhaps she could be buried in Warren?

    • I don't see that you gave a marriage date, but Wayne T. does (16 April 1664), and the Taber report by David Thaler also says that
    • Re Lydia's 2nd marriage, Wayne T. says that she married 4 Nov 1718 a Samuel Mason of Swansea, son of Sampson and Mary (Butterworth) Mason and supplied seemingly good evidence of that. Thaler gives Providence as the location.

This was at the occasion of the distribution of her second husband's property after his death. She is described as "aged and unable to handle her own affairs."
