      !MILITARY: "Barnabus was a captain in Green Mtn Boys when Ethan Allen led it at capture of fort Ticonderoga. Allen listed his name and rank in letter he sent to Congress telling them of the capture of the fort. When GMBoys went into Continental service (after NOT electing Ethan to lead them) he was comissioned a 1st Lt, NY. Killed at Shelburne VT 1778 in fight to defend Pierson's blockhouse. 24 colonists against 68 British and Indians. Colonists won- 3 dead-- Barnabus killed when he went outside to pour water on wall fired by enemy." --C. Tatlock
