In 1892 he formed a partnership with JM Lee for the conduct of the Victorial Hotel where he was connected until 1894, then becoming manager of the Grand Pacific in 1899. He worked his way upward to a prominent position as rep of hotel intrerests in Chicago. m Elizabeth Fitsgerald, Two children Richard Gerald ae 16 in 1912 and Willis Zebulon, age ten in 1912.
