!SOURCE: "Descendants of Robert Whipple," email from B. Huckins to Weldon Whipple, 2 Mar 2005. Cites the following:- History of Sanbornton, Runnels: "Robert Whipple owned land in Sanbornton - lot 42, 1st Division. This is what is commonly called Hermit Woods district and is located north east of Sanbornton in the area known as North Sanbornton at the time. This could indicate belonging to this Robert Whipple or to an elder Robert Whipple. A Robert Whipple also owned part of Lot 47 in Sanbornton. The Thom(p)sons lived near the First Baptist Meeting House. "

- 1810-1824
- Robert appears in the town tax records Sanbornton and in the early years, 1810 he is taxed for pasture land, wild lands and has a cow, a horse and oxen. The quantity of animals would not indicate he was a serious farmer. In the latter Sanbornton tax years, 1818+ Robert has only has one cow, no horse nor pasture land. He does not have mowing fields. This could indicate he was in some profession other than farming.
Interestingly, in 1818 there is also a tax recorded for a Dr. Robert Whipple who is taxed only for one horse. This appears on the same page as the other Robert but is taxed as two individuals. Nothing to prove Robert to be the son of nor related to the Dr. Whipple, however, there are no other Whipples found in Sanbornton in the time period Robert is there. The Doctor Whipple appears on the tax list the following year, 1819, and then disappears. There is no reference to a Doctor Whipple in the Sanbornton town history so he was either retired or not practicing for any length of time in that town.
Note: These records end with year 1824.
- 1820
- Robert is in Sanbornton with wife, 1 son and 4 daughters and one other female. This would be son Joseph, daus Mary, Sally, Catherine, Susan and his wife.

- 1840
- Unknown
- 1850

Note: What is now Lakeport, was prior part of Laconia, and in 1855t was part of Gilford. The earlier name of Lakeport was Lake Village. In 1855 Laconia, north of Pleasant Street was Meredith Bridge, and was later part of Laconia. In 1874 Gilford was dis-annexed and re-annexed to Laconia in 1876. Lake Village was dis-annexed from Laconia and re-annexed to Gilford.
