!SOURCE: Email from Joanne Vetter (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 15 Aug 2022. Gives birth 9 May 1873 in Missouri. This was two years prior to her parent’s marriage, which made me think that David had been married prior to Sarah; however, according to the 1910 census, he is show that he was married one time, and at that time had been married for 35 years, which agrees with marriage records. I also have Mary, with her parents on the 1878 Nebraska state census, indicating that she was two (2) years old, and born in Nebraska. This would make her birth sometime in 1876 and fits the timeline. Her death record states she was born in Kansas; however, the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census records indicate she was born in Missouri. Also, her death record, and cemetery records, show her name as Mary Kansas, instead of Mary Candace, but all census records show her with the middle initial of “C”, and therefore I think it was misheard, and then Kansas became fact. She married William Henry Harden, the son of William Harden and Cathryn Driscoll in 1892. A newspaper article shows that they applied for a marriage license in Custer County, Nebraska in April 1892.William was b 12 Jan 1861 in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, and died 26 Aug 1955 in Las Vegas, Clark, NV. The 1910 census indicates that he had been married prior to his marriage to Mary; however, no records or information regarding this prior marriage has been found. He is buried at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery in Las Vegas, while Mary is buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott, Yavapai, AZ. According to the 1910 Marshall County, Kansas census, Mary was the mother of 6 children, but only 4 were living.
