She writes:I don't think that Abby Mowry {18986} is the dau. of Daniel Mowry {18973} and Joanna Smith {18972}, given her birth dates of either 1795 or 1803. I have in my database an Abby Smith (1802-1897), dau. of Nathaniel Smith, as the wife of Willard Eddy (1796-1877). However, a note in Abby's file says her name is Abby Mowry, dau. of Nathaniel Mowry. Abby Smith and Willard Eddy {prob. 18989} were married June 23, 1852 in Providence, Providence, RI (src: Rhode Island Marriages, 1724-1916). I have merged Abby Smith and Abby Mowry in my database and disconnected her from Daniel Mowry and Joanna Smith. A possibility for Nathaniel Mowry, father of Abby Mowry, would be Nathaniel Mowry {18974}, son of Daniel Mowry and Joanna Smith. What do you think? Perhaps the additional info might help to clarify Abby's parentage as that of Nathaniel Mowry {18974} and Martha Tucker {18975}. I like to think that she was named for her maternal grandmother (Abigail Staples) and named a son for her brother Sessions Mowry. This is one of these "feels right" situations without hard proof. I agree, the earlier genealogies have lots of errors, but it's amazing what was done without benefit of computer (or maybe even a typewriter).
