    • !SOURCE: Email from Janet Petrak (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 1 and 7 Dec 2014. She writes:
It is very confusing. Isaac had a mother named Abigail as well as two wives and a sister

Isaac was first married to Abigail Randall. Their children were Elijah, Isaac Jr., Susannah, William and Sarah Ann. Sarah Ann was born April 22, 1769 and he married Abigail Whipple Mainer/Maner on July 23, 1769. So, with an infant and four other young children he probably really needed a wife and she, as a widow, was probably needing a husband!

!SOURCE: Email from Janet Petrak (email hidden) to the Whipple Website, 1 and 7 Dec 2014: "The DAR lists Abigail Randall as Isaac’s wife during the revolutionary war. And Somers vital records are the source for the Buck/Mainer (or Maner) marriage three months after Sarah Ann’s birth so it makes sense."
