!SOURCE: Email from Rebecca Ott (email hidden) to Weldon Whipple, 5 Apr 2008. Cites the extracts of Rutland County Vt probate records by Jenks, Roberts, and Hance, published in 2007:
Estate of Betsey Burlingame of Ira. will: left property (54 acres with old house) to son Gideon Bishop and daughter-in-law Anna Bishop, to granddaughters Sally Bateman and Betsey Bishop, and to grandson Sherman Bishop; "note against brother John Burlingame;" will was written 31 Oct 1822 and probated in 1831. Abel Cooper named executor. [It seems that Betsey married a Bishop, but she apparently reverted to her maiden name. Seven months after being declared of unsound mind, she made a will]
