Marvin Waley passed away on April 20, 2009 at Hospice House in Spokane WA. He was born at home in Seattle WA on September 4, 1921, the sixth son of William and Ida Congdon Waley.

Marv completed high school and attended the University of Washington on the GI Bill after serving in the US Army with the 45th Infantry Division as a medical aid man from 1940 to 1945 in campaigns in Australia and New Guinea. Marv worked as an artist and draftsman for many architectural, manufacturing and aerospace firms in California and Washington before retiring in 1982 and devoting his time to his interests in photography, gourmet cooking, pencil and pen and ink drawing, and community theatre.

Beginning in the 1950's with the prestigious Santa Monica Theatre Guild and other groups in California and continuing at the Driftwood Players and many groups in the Seattle area, Marv acted, directed, designed and produced numerous plays. Here in Spokane he appeared at Spokane Civic Theatre and with other groups and was a founding member of Rogue Players which played at the West Central Community Center from 1988 to 1996.
